Karla Ray
Karla Ray worked on behalf of Florida families for 14 years as an Investigative Reporter and Anchor, earning 12 Emmy nominations and helping to change policies at the state and local level. In 2023, her reporting on the lack of regulations for safehouses dedicated to human trafficking survivors led to new legislation creating standards and inspections for the homes, ensuring high quality care for the most vulnerable exiting the life of control by a trafficker. A community advocate, Karla has become a thought leader on topics of equity, education, and social justice, and she strives to improve the communities she serves. She and her husband have a toddler son, who is their inspiration to work hard for a better world.
