Believe it or not, that’s one of the biggest misconceptions about Medicaid. Florida’s Medicaid rules are so different from every other state’s that even if you had $50,000, $100,000, or a million dollars you could still work with a lawyer to be able to protect those funds and still become eligible for Medicaid. I point out that you need to work with a lawyer because this type of work is considered the practice of law, and it’s something that the Florida Supreme Court does not allow non-attorneys to engage in.
